Thanksgiving weekend 🧡 Meeting at Whyte Lake Parking, just off Westport Road (V7W 1V2) for a hike in Cypress Provincial Park. Short route: a mushroom spotting expedition with Rosie. This is a 5km out and back hike to Whyte Lake with under 200 metres of elevation. An excellent option for beginner hikers. Long route: we’re going big this month, with our first Dykes who Hike “mini summit” (unofficially regarded as a summit). West Knob hike is 10km with 641 metres of elevation. It will likely take around 5 hours. (As this hike is longer we will be aiming to leave as close to 10.30 as possible, please allow time for parking etc). These hikes are dog friendly, but we ask that on hikes dogs are kept firmly under control for the comfort of all participants. Bus - 250 or 253 from Park Royal (1-2 km walk from the bus stop) Parking - fairly small paid parking lot, street parking a little further away from the trailhead. Disclaimer: these hikes are meet-ups, navigation is lead by a group leader but they are not guided hikes.
