Terms of Use

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of sugarFRUIT, including its website, community features and related services.

By creating an account or using sugarFRUIT, you agree to these Terms and our Community Guidelines.

If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service.

1. Who can use sugarFRUIT

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use member-only features of sugarFRUIT.

You are responsible for providing accurate information when creating your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.

You may not create an account for someone else without their permission, impersonate another person, or use sugarFRUIT for fraudulent or deceptive purposes.

2. What sugarFRUIT is

sugarFRUIT is a community platform designed to help people connect through profiles, conversations, Groups, Events and other community features.

The community is centred on queer women, trans and non-binary people and welcomes respectful queer-friendly participants.

sugarFRUIT is not a dating or matchmaking service, even though members may use the community to meet people for friendship, dating or other relationships.

We don't guarantee that you will meet particular people, form particular relationships, receive responses to messages, or have any particular experience using the service.

3. Your account

You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account.

Please keep your password secure and let us know if you believe someone has gained unauthorized access to your account.

You may not sell, transfer or share access to your account in a way that allows someone else to impersonate you.

We may restrict, suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or create a risk to other members or the service.

4. Community conduct

Our Community Guidelines are part of these Terms.

By using sugarFRUIT, you agree to respect other members, their identities, privacy and boundaries.

Harassment, discrimination, threats, stalking, impersonation, scams, spam, unwanted sexual behaviour and other conduct prohibited by the Community Guidelines may result in restrictions, suspension or removal from sugarFRUIT.

We may consider the context, severity and pattern of behaviour when deciding what action is appropriate.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit to sugarFRUIT, including profile information, messages, Group content, Event submissions and other material you create.

By submitting content that is intended to be displayed or shared through sugarFRUIT, you give us permission to host, store, process, reproduce and display that content as necessary to operate and provide the service.

This permission is limited to operating, maintaining, securing and improving sugarFRUIT. It does not transfer ownership of your content to us.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to share the content you submit.

Don't upload or share content that violates another person's privacy, intellectual property rights or other legal rights.

6. Private and community content

Some sugarFRUIT content is intended for particular audiences.

For example, profiles may be visible only to eligible members, Group conversations may be limited to Group members, and direct messages are intended for their participants.

You agree not to deliberately bypass access controls or obtain, collect or distribute content you aren't authorized to access.

You also agree not to scrape, harvest or systematically collect member profiles, messages or other community information.

7. Groups

Members may be able to create and participate in Groups.

Group owners may help manage their Groups, but they do not represent sugarFRUIT and aren't employees or agents of sugarFRUIT.

Additional expectations established by a Group owner must remain consistent with these Terms and the Community Guidelines.

We may restrict or deactivate Groups that violate our rules or create risks for the community.

8. Events

sugarFRUIT may allow members, organizations or other users to submit or share Events.

Unless an Event explicitly states otherwise, an Event appearing on sugarFRUIT does not mean that sugarFRUIT organizes, operates, sponsors, supervises or endorses it.

Event organizers are responsible for their own Events.

If you attend an Event found through sugarFRUIT, you are responsible for making your own decisions about attendance, travel, activities and personal safety.

We may remove or decline to publish Events that violate our rules or that we believe may create risks for the community.

9. Interactions with other members

You are responsible for your interactions with other members, including decisions to communicate, meet in person, attend Events or participate in activities together.

Use reasonable judgment when meeting someone for the first time or participating in an activity organized by another member.

Although we may provide reporting, blocking and moderation tools, we can't guarantee the identity, conduct, intentions or statements of every person using sugarFRUIT.

If you believe someone presents an immediate threat to you or another person, contact the appropriate emergency or local authorities.

10. Reporting and moderation

Members may report accounts, Groups or other content where reporting tools are available.

We may review reports and take action when we believe these Terms or the Community Guidelines have been violated.

Actions may include warnings, feature restrictions, content removal, Group deactivation, account suspension or account termination.

We aren't required to take a particular action in response to every report, and we may consider context, available evidence, severity, previous behaviour and the safety of the community.

To protect member privacy and the integrity of moderation processes, we may not be able to tell you what action was taken in response to a report.

11. Using the service responsibly

You may not:

  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to sugarFRUIT or another member's account;
  • interfere with the security or operation of the service;
  • use automated tools to scrape or harvest community information without permission;
  • distribute malware or malicious code;
  • use sugarFRUIT to conduct scams, fraud or unlawful activity;
  • circumvent blocks, suspensions, access restrictions or moderation controls; or
  • use the service in a way that materially interferes with other people's ability to use it.

12. Third-party services and links

sugarFRUIT may contain links to websites, Events, businesses or services operated by other people or organizations.

We don't control those third parties and aren't responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, products, services or conduct.

A link or listing on sugarFRUIT does not necessarily mean we endorse it.

13. Availability and changes to sugarFRUIT

sugarFRUIT is an evolving service.

Features may be added, changed, limited or removed over time.

We may also temporarily interrupt access for maintenance, security, technical problems or circumstances outside our control.

We don't guarantee that sugarFRUIT or any particular feature will always be available or operate without errors.

14. Ending your use of sugarFRUIT

You may stop using sugarFRUIT at any time.

Where account-deactivation or deletion functionality is available, you may use those tools subject to any applicable retention requirements.

We may suspend, restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect members, protect the service, comply with legal obligations or address security concerns.

Some information may need to be retained after an account is deactivated or deleted where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, moderation records, legal obligations or the operation of the service.

15. Intellectual property

Except for content submitted by members and third parties, sugarFRUIT's software, branding, design, graphics and other original service materials belong to their respective owner or licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may use sugarFRUIT for its intended purposes, but these Terms don't give you ownership of the service, its software or its branding.

16. No guarantees

We work to provide a useful, safe and reliable community, but no online service can eliminate every risk.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, sugarFRUIT is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We don't guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that information provided by members or third parties will always be accurate.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

17. Limitation of responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of sugarFRUIT is not responsible for losses or damages resulting solely from the independent conduct of members, Event organizers, businesses or other third parties outside our reasonable control.

This includes interactions or activities that occur offline after people connect through sugarFRUIT.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by law.

18. Privacy

Your use of sugarFRUIT involves the collection and processing of personal information.

Privacy practices are described in our Privacy Policy.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as sugarFRUIT evolves.

When changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to make updated Terms available through the service.

The date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were most recently updated.

Continuing to use sugarFRUIT after updated Terms take effect means the updated Terms apply to your continued use, subject to applicable law.

20. Contact

If you have questions about these Terms or about sugarFRUIT, please see our About page for current contact information.
